In 2006 PFF and The Outreach Foundation (TOF) joined in a strategic alliance for the purpose of sending missionaries.
That step of faith set in motion months of prayer, planning and preparations which culminated in the creation of The Antioch Partners (TAP). TAP became operational in summer 2007, and there are a growing number of mission personnel serving through TAP.
TAP continues to be a shared ministry of TOF and PFF, even though TAP is now a separate non-profit organization. The nature of this shared ministry is evident in a number of significant ways, including: a majority of TAP Board Members represent either PFF or TOF, TAP has “outsourced” its finance/accounting functions to PFF, and TOF/PFF staff members actively recruit for TAP and share the vision of TAP.
TAP's desire is to expand opportunities for Presbyterians to participate in what God is doing around the world. TAP is committed to minimizing its own organizational structure, so as to maximize kingdom resources, and we seek to work synergistically with congregations and other mission organizations, out-sourcing and creating new partnerships as appropriate.
Working among unreached and least-reached peoples continues to be an important priority for TAP. For example, one TAP Partner is serving in Central Asia among an unreached people group. TAP is not only committed to participating in what God is doing in international frontier contexts, TAP is also committed to strategic involvement in frontier mission contexts here in the US.
